An Egyptian artist, who was born in 1970, She is a graduate of the Faculty of Art Education program at Helwan University, where she acquired her B.A., M. A., and Ph.D. from the department. She produces mostly sculptures and creatively integrates multiple and diverse types of material into her work. She has also been eager to explore how science, technology, and sculpting could be harmoniously integrated to produce original and unorthodox art. Constantly experimenting with different materials, Khalil’s practice also includes mixed-media installations and the use of unconventional materials, such as laser light in her art pieces. She has been locally exhibited widely, where she participated in 9 exhibitions. Her work is also showcased in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in Egypt. She has a very peculiar and unique style that’s different from many Egyptian artists. She passed through different phases throughout her practice over 25 years of experience.
Since 1995, she has been eager to study and research light and how it is used to enhance the material one is working with and how it mobilizes it to be integrated into sculpture using laser light and space. She was the first to present at the Youth’s Twelve Salon called “White Light, Volume. hologram. It was an experiment of holography photography in Egypt, in collaboration with the National Institute for Laser Sciences in Cairo.
She masters space installations and using a transparent material. She uses transparent material repetitively to captivate their shadows using technology and skilled assembly techniques. During the past 10 years, she specifically focused on human relationships & issues and experimented with different mediums to produce work that reflects human values. She used techniques for geometrical installation and assembly reflected in minimal sculptures.
